Can you feel it in the air? That’s right, it’s cookie season! Hurray!
On 12 March 1912, Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl guides. Their name changed to Girl Scouts and become famous for their annual cookie sales and the inspiring troop 1500. Here is a detailed list of the Girl Scout Cookies I purchase every year.
- Thin Mints
I like to ask my cookie suppliers what they are using their profits for. Its always for a project the troop will do together (this year, my purchase is going toward a camping trip for a brownie troop!) They also have a special project that they contribute any tips to. One troop I purchase from uses their gratuities to send a little taste of home (girls scout cookies) to deployed troops. Others are donating to anti-bullying programs & to a group that provides help for LGBTQ youth.
What cookies are you buying this year?
Cookie Tip: Girl Scout cookies are sold once a year! Buying a years supply and keep them tucked away in your freezer. This assure you can whip up Hal Lublin’s Famous Thin Mint Milk Shake when the craving strikes!
